The salaries of police officers and soldiers have increased by 45% in 3 years, and those of civil servants by 30%. This is stated in the edited version of the 2025 state budget.

• “The increase in the salaries of soldiers and police officers over the last 3 years has been implemented by 45%. In addition to soldiers and police officers, based on the legislative amendments implemented in 2021, the adjustment of salaries has begun for all employees in the public sector. Over the last 3 years, the salaries of employees in the public sector have increased by more than 30%.

Funding for education and science (including funding for kindergartens) has increased by more than 1 billion 400 million GEL (a total increase of 20% of the budget), and in 2024, funding for this area will exceed 3 billion 300 million GEL (an increase of more than 65%).

"Within the framework of increased funding, it became possible to increase the average salary of public school teachers by 700-800 GEL, and the average salary of kindergarten staff by 300 GEL," the budget draft states.

In addition, according to the country's main financial document, the draft budget:

• 1.6 billion GEL is allocated for the Ministry of Defense in 2025. The allocated amount also includes a 101% increase in soldiers' salaries;
• 1.350 billion GEL has been allocated for the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and this amount includes a 101% increase in police salaries.
• According to the 2025 draft, the basic salary increases by 10% compared to 2024 and is set at 1,460 GEL, which ensures an increase in the salaries of public sector employees by 10%.

For your information, in accordance with the Law of Georgia "On Remuneration for Labor in Public Institutions", the state budget annually determines the basic official salary, which is multiplied by the coefficient determined by the staffing schedule of each budgetary organization, and the monthly salary of a public servant is determined accordingly.
