According to the National Statistics Service of Georgia, the nationwide population and agricultural census, which is conducted every 10 years, began on November 14. The data collection process will continue until December 19.
The description will be carried out in two stages:
To complete the electronic questionnaire, those wishing to do so must complete a simple registration on a special web platform created by Geostat, which is located on the Geostat website. After completing the electronic questionnaire, respondents will receive a special code, which they must present to the Geostat interviewer who visits them.
According to Geostat, all citizens of Georgia, as well as all foreign citizens residing in the territory of Georgia (who plan to stay in Georgia for more than 12 months) and stateless persons (who plan to stay in Georgia for more than 12 months) are obliged to undergo a census. In accordance with Articles 34 and 35 of the Law of Georgia on Official Statistics, individual data are confidential and are not subject to disclosure. Individual data about the respondent are stored in accordance with the procedure established by the current legislation of Georgia. The census will provide the latest information on the size of the population, their gender and age structure, employment, education, health status, livelihoods and housing.
